The International Santamonica Circuit overlooks the famous Riviera Romagnola from its privileged position amidst lush rolling hills. Designed in 1969, it has recently been renovated by Dorna (the company which manages the World Championship), thus turning into a safer and more spectacular circuit.

Renovation works lasted up to 2007, when the circuit began to host world competitions again. The old circuit, which hosted important car and motorcycle races, gave way to a new track featuring inverted direction and longer distances (it is 4180 metres long and 12 metres large). It has four entrances, capacious public galleries which can host up to 18.500 people, renovated services and facilities and a new name: since 2007, it has been dubbed “Misano World Circuit”.

The circuit currently hosts national and international motorcycle (Superbike World Championship), truck (European Truck Championship, the only Italian stage takes place in Misano) and car (Italian Championships and FIA Internatinal Races, which also include evening games) sporting events.

The pride of the “Santamonica” Circuit is its innovative system of artificial lighting, which has recently been developed in order to give spectators the possibility to attend evening games too. The Santamonica Circuit in Misano Adriatico is one of the most appreciated ones for its privileged geographic position (which is easily accessible from all over Italy) and the fact it gives people the possibility to perform free trials on nearly all Sundays.

The visibility over the circuit is very good thanks to high galleries which offer breathtaking views over it. Many hotels in Cattolica, Riccione, Rimini and Misano Adriatico, which are situated just few kilometres away, offer guests special agreements to enter the circuit.
