The Faunal Oasis of the River Conca extends for almost 700 hectars from Morciano di Romagna up to the mouth of the river Conca. This wide expanse develops between the river flood-bed (the flat landscape which extends between the low-water bed of a river and its artificial or natural banks) and the river-bed (the furrows created by the river current), which are both situated in the municipalities of Morciano, Cattolica and San Giovanni in Marignano on the right and San Clemente and Misano Adriatico on the left.

It is possible to make pleasant cycle excursions across the Oasis taking advantage of well-equipped cycle paths, and to go for pleasant walks across lush footpaths.

Via S. Ilario, on the left bank of the artificial basin, hosts an interesting Bird-Watching Post. A wooden building provided with proper slits, it gives guests the possibility to admire rare species of birds and the whole of the Faunal Oasis of the River Conca.

The Oasis and artificial basin are home to: Grey Herons, Great White Egrets, Little Egrets, Little Bitterns, Black-winged Stilts, Black-crowned Night Herons, Corvids, Black-headed Gulls, Broad-billed Sandpipers and House Sparrows. Not to be missed are the rare species they contain, such as White and Black Storks, Pelicans and Common Spoonbills.

Where the water is deeper, visitors will have the possibility to spot Geese, Great Cormorants, Great Crested Grebes and Ducks; some of these species, such as Rails, Ducks, Geese, Swans and Great Crested Grebes, nest inside the reservoir. The Faunal Oasis of the River Conca is open all year round and provides free admission; special binoculars are available to admire the local fauna and flora.

The Bird-Watching Post is easily accessible: from the Strada Statale Adriatica, take via del Carro up to Santamonica Circuit; turn left in Via Sant'Ilario and then left again at the crossroads leading to the car park situated on the bank of the reservoir.
